4-H Capitol Experience (March 2010)
March 21 - 24, 2010
High school students and adult participant-chaperons are invited to participate.
Join with 100 other high school youth for the annual four-day Capitol Experience conference to learn how state governments work. You will stay in a Lansing area hotel and participate in downtown Lansing experiences. You will choose a current policy to examine from several points of view, meet with lobbyists and advocates, and learn how government agencies deal with the issue at the state level. You will also be matched with a mentor in your area of interest to learn more about government processes and related positions. You will visit with your state senators and representatives, participate in simulations and activities designed to reinforce and apply what you have learned about government, and share what you’ve learned with others.
